Please try not to call or disturb us on these days if possible, thank you.

HIRE THE HALL

Our good sized hall is available for community functions and private parties (sorry no teenage parties)

Please call the church office for details.....leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Saint Stephen’s is a warm

and friendly group of people who meet together regularly to build a relationship with God, the Father, by following Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit. We are led by Colin, the Priest-in-charge, with Tracy, (Curate) and Gary (Reader), licenced by the Bishop of Bradwell to serve here

Our aim is to provide a  place for the community; creating an environment that is both supportive and encouraging; where peace and the relevance of God in your life can be found.

Within the framework of The Church of England we seek to be freed from preconceptions and tradition and be truly open to the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

We understand the Bible to be the true word of God, inspired by God, revealing the character of God and relevant to us today.

We don’t pretend to be perfect but real, preferring to recognise the struggles that we all share and bringing them to God.

We seek to serve the community all all kinds of ways, alongside worship, holding social events, like the free barbeque in May, concerts, and other community events.

We continue to support Prince Avenue School, including the Children’s Centre, the local Police, Southend Airport, KeyMed, Southend Rugby Club, other local businesses within our parish, as well as Southend Borough Council and other agencies who work in this area.

Weddings, Baptisms and Funerals

We provide a friendly service for those who want to get married, for those who want to be baptised or want their children either to be baptised, or dedicated to God.

We carry out a full funeral service including on-going support for months after the funeral for the bereaved, including an annual memorial service in November.

Our desire is to serve the local community and to this end our fees are kept to a minimum, and included statutory fees that do not come to our church.

The is no fee for baptism.
