Sandra Medina makes her monthly update: Well life  in a country  that is not  your own country always is going to be different or many times is a big change because everything is new, but for me is part of the new experience.

In my experience here, I have learnt a lot of things, such as working with older people, which is interesting and new for me, youth work,  involved in different activities.

Always  something new to learn and through all of these things , I feel more free and encouraged to continue working and living here for a year.

The first time when I came here I was totally happy and excited because I knew that this trip was a blessing from God in my life. I must confess there are challenges working in a cross culture, and meeting new people with different

Characters, but God has granted me his grace through all this. I now fully understand that true personal fulfilment never comes through self gratification.

Instead it comes from sacrifice and challenges and as I do that sacrifice, I fell more fulfilled in my life. But at the same time is so wonderful for me this new experience because  I’m learning a lot everyday and one of  the  things that  make me so happy  is sharing  my time with the children.

It’s amazing for  me to see the children, in the church learning handicrafts, and discovering new thing everyday. I  feel so happy when I see children in the street and they  recognize  me and they call to me just to say Hello or most of the time they approach me and we hug each other, it is one of the  thing  that encourages me and makes me think that they really need us.

In my experience here I would like to share about that very good , kind nice people that I have met in Saint Stephen’s church , people that take my place and think about how I should be feeling in a country that is not my own country and they have showed me so much love, and I know that of the same way God is going to bless them. I have met very good friends , I have so much support from the members of the church who I work with  and  English friends that I  met when they were working in Peru.

Everyday  there are something new to do  and  different helping in the church, and  the atmosphere of working with people who really love the Lord as well and have the same passion to serve God like me is great. God has given me the privilege to meet wonderful people here in England and share wonderful moments with them. God has made me realise that when He calls us is for a specific reason and specific plan that He has  for everyone of us .

Well I can say God is teaching  me something new everyday,  and I really enjoy working and serving God’s children and God’s churches. Finally  working in U.K is a very good and great experience for me and with this experiences I can take with me many lovely memories with the lovely people that I have met and  shared  with. God bless you everyone of you.
